Sad loss of John Frakes

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the sudden death of John Frakes. John was a long standing member and director of the Derby Phoenix Club who had not been well recently and was taken into hospital at Grimsby during the July Cadwell Park meeting. He had been in hospital for three weeks and was showning signs of improvement, but had a sudden downturn on Monday 17th August, from which he did not recover,

The throughts of the Board and members are with John's familly at this sad time. Details of the funeral arrangements will be announced on the Forum when they become available.

John was well known to racing members as the face of the Race Office and as an entry secretary. He was due to take the entries for the September Cadwell Park meeting and this will now be handled by the General Secretary, Dave G Smith. Entries which have already been sent in have been passed to Dave, so there is no need for those competitors to re-enter or to contact him.
